Waiting for the appraisal

So the house saga continues....
Our city recieved a federal grant for led abbatment and rehabilitation of the city, not a specific area, any part of the city. Well we were accepted on the program and things started to fly. The city aids in paying closing costs so on their recommendation we went back to the sellers to sign a new contract.
Our original contract stated a price for the home with a 3% sellers concession (they give us 3% of the selling pice back at closing) to help pay closing costs. Well, if we kept the sellers concession the city could not help pay for portions of th ehome. So we asked them to drop the house price the 3% no concession, same deal really just our mortgage would be for 3% less. The sellers agreed and we signed the contract.
The sellers agent got the signed contract then went on vacation to florida. Our agent placed call after call with no contact from her. Our agent then contacted her senior agent about the situation and was just told "OH Joyce...shes on vacation she'll be back in a week I'll leave her a message". This was not what we wanted to hear. Without the sign contract we couldn't call in the appraiser and get a closing date. Our agents senior agent finally called Joyces senior agent and demanded to have the contract. So we did finally get the contract after the sellers agent was tracked down on vacation. It was all signed and sitting in her home office but her vacation took priority over her job.
Well with this signed contract they called in the appraiser. He is going today to appraise the property and then it takes 2-3 days to generate the report. Next week we are having a meeting with the mortgage guy and I pray I have a closing date by next week.
UGH I'm never moving agian....

Kitty Bed

This is one of the kitties beds. It's a mouse but they have recently eaten the support string on the back of the head so it flops now until I fix that, so they can eat it again LOL

same backpack but flat

Backpacks

Here's two of the back packs I made for teenaged cousins for the holidays. The pattern is very easy and these sack style bags are very popular for school and on college campuses. I have tons of people ask me about them and the pattern is so easy. I used Red heart super saver for the black bag, 2 strands held together through out. I used 3 strands of caron simply soft for the hot pink bag. The girls loved them. I found the pattern on Lion Brands website and then just played around with the size bag I wanted. Even though the pattern calls for a J hook and 28 ch to start I used a K hook and 40ch to start. Mine came out the size of a 5 subject note book, possibly a bit bigger, th epattern came out too small for the use I had in mind. The girls love them because they can carry 2-3 notebooks in them for classes and not have to have a huge bag, but something stylish. Posted by Picasa

Hello Kitty!

Finally a picture of something I have made. This is the Hello Kitty I crocheted for my Daughter for Christmas 2004. It's hard to see in this picture but shes positioned to always sit with her dress tied up in back. I think I could have done a better job on the face, but, I will try again some other time. Posted by Picasa

I need a job

Well the time has come for me to seek employment outside my house. Yep, no more telecommuting. The company I currently work for is reducing their work force. I am still employed, but, it's as if it's a sign to come. It's better to find a job while you still have a job, so just in case I have decided to broaden my horizons and seek employment elsewhere.
Hopefully I can secure a good, decent job that I am also happy with. Grad school for my teaching credentials will have to wait. But, for now I have a math degree and engineering degree to draw from, several years in internet and programming services, teaching experiences, there should be something out there for me.
I've sent out several resumes today so it will take time to hear back from anyone. I am just hopeful to get the ONE I really want. I'll discuss that ONE more if I am actually interviewed; I don't want to jinx it.

Inspectors, appraisers...sign your life away....

I have a house update...finally!
The house inspection was done this past Tuesday YAY! We had a new contract signed today. We had made an offer with a sellers concession and dropped the concession and dropped the price of the house. Basically we asked the sellers for $2100 back to help with closing costs, which we don't need now so they reduced the price of the house by $2000 instead.
So everything is inspected and signed. Now the mortgage broker needs a copy and a check for the appraiser. The house should be appraised early next week and we should have a closing date in the next few weeks.
It can't happen soon enough. I just want to MOVE!
